Job Duties
- Daily inspection of all system during system warm up to ensure safe and efficient start-up.
- Review and document the result of system checks all suggestions to be given to Supervisor.
- Ensure specialty equipment such as screens, Eddy Currents, and drumfeeders are cleaned before system start-up
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Trouble shoots the system to prevent jam ups.
- Be sure to include comments in deficiency reports about any observations to potential maintenance issues.
- Maintain a steady flow of material on the line via screen angles, disk and conveyor speeds. Ensure that there is always a good balance of fiber and containers on the line.
- Ensure all aspects of system are operating properly during production (ie film hood, bag breaker and drumfeeders)
- Accurately document system downtime and necessary repairs that must be made on system that are observed during operations on forms provided. Forms are to be submitted to supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned with operational changes.
- Must be in communication with other operators to assist in operational changes to ensure the efficient operation of the system.
- Perform mechanical repairs to the system as assigned by the System Supervisor
- Participate in maintenance meetings as required
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a recycling facility.
- Excellent understanding of the operation process.
- Keen attention to detail.
Employee Relations
- Assist Department when necessary to cover absenteeism & vacation.
- Report absenteeism to your Manager via telephone, text or email.
- Communicate with administrative, plant and supervisory staff as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- Provide and/or participate in training as required.
- Comply with company rules, policies and procedures.
