Senior Tax Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sales tax compliance, including the accurate and timely preparation of all US Sales and Use Tax returns
- Assist with audit defense for Indirect taxes. Gather audit documentation, prepare audit workpapers and identify & research audit issues
- Assist with M&A and divestitures, including due diligence, integration and implementation
- Responsible for monthly indirect tax account reconciliation for US Sales and Use Tax
- Serve as subject matter expert and assist other departments on various tax issues, including AP, AR, Legal, Finance, Treasury, HR, Customer Service, Fleet and Internal Audit
- Communicate with external stakeholders including vendors, customers, auditors to resolve questions or issues
- Participate in the calculation of indirect tax reserves and budgets
- Research various tax issues including billing, exemption opportunities, and nexus requirements for states and localities
- Train indirect tax analysts and provide support/guidance
Systems:
- Intermediate degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite & Google workspace
- Workday experience is preferred
- Ability to learn new billing/ERP systems acquired through acquisition, or for pre-acquisition audits
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of GAAP and current accounting practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
- CPA designation or in progress is preferred
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with property, sales and use and fuel taxes is preferred
