Project Manager

Primary Function The Project Manager (PM) supports operations managers with project preparation, building proposals, research, technical planning, safety procedures, project budgeting, and expense management. Crucially, the PM serves as a primary bridge to key accounts, driving client relationship management and identifying business development opportunities to grow the branch. The PM also provides guidance and training to operations personnel, supports site management as a site coordinator, and ensures the highest standards
of safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities:
Client Relationships & Business Development: Actively cultivate, manage, and expand strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Partner with business development teams and account managers to identify new opportunities, secure project work, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Proposals & Financial Growth: Build competitive, high-quality price estimates and technical quotations for specialized scopes of work. Participate in regular P & amp reviews to analyze financials and collaborate with the Branch Manager on strategic growth initiatives.
Project Planning & Execution: Assist the Branch Manager with major project pre-planning, scheduling, asset securement, equipment rentals, subcontractor management, daily tracking, and project closure.
Technical & Safety Support: Conduct research and develop new procedures to optimize operations. Complete technical closure reports for customers and regulatory bodies while maintaining strict safety compliance through weekly field inspections.
Field Leadership & Operations: Provide hands-on site coordination and participate in field work when necessary to support operations teams, ensure smooth execution, and maintain open communication channels.
Other Duties: Attend required meetings and perform additional duties as directed to support overall branch objectives.
Requirements:
Proven experience in account management, client retention, or business development within an industrial or environmental services environment.
Strong knowledge of environmental industry practices and heavy equipment (e.g., Automated High-Pressure Cleaning, Vacuum Trucks, Chemical Cleaning).
Familiarity with WHMIS controlled products, chemistry, Gantt charts, and technical project planning.
Formal project management and leadership training.
Strong leadership capacity to motivate team members and drive collective success.
Availability outside regular business hours for project coordination and emergency client support.
A university degree/diploma in Sciences or Business is considered a strong asset.
Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
