The Role
GFL Environmental is hiring an Operations & Safety Coordinator for the Cranbrook branch. This role supports the General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales/Dispatch Manager, and Dispatch team by ensuring safety programs, training, and operational systems run smoothly and remain compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Lead branch safety and operations projects assigned by leadership
Manage employee training, certifications, and compliance tracking
Train drivers on tablets and Digital DVIRs
Support implementation of safety programs, ride-alongs, and observations
Monitor telematics systems (Lytx, Geotab) to support driver coaching
Coordinate First Aid, fit testing, hearing tests, asbestos, and forklift training
Maintain driver records, training matrices, and compliance documentation
Assist with site inspections, JHSC activities, and WCB/Return-to-Work administration
What You Bring
Strong organization and project management skills
Ability to train and support drivers with technology and safety processes
Proactive approach to compliance and training management
Experience with fleet/safety systems (SEMS, Geotab, Lytx) is an asset
Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 with Air Brakes preferred)
