MHSW Depot Technician

The Technician is responsible for the handling, consolidating and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The Technician must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks. This position's working schedule is on Saturday's from 8:15 am - 4:45 pm.
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
● Provide excellent customer service to the residents of York Region that visit the
depot
● Have good communication skills to deal with York Regional employees, and the
public
● Have read and understand all training documents on-site
● Receive MHSW (municipal household and special waste) from residents
● Identify, sort, and pack MHSW into the appropriate containers
● Maintain clean grounds and facility
● Follow Supervisor’s instructions
● Wear all of the required PPE at all times
● Work in a safe manner at all times
● Maintain and report any equipment that needs repair
● Comply with all rules and regulations to do with operating the depot
