Mechanic

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair operational difficulties on heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles and rolling stock.
• Master the Tech: Utilize diagnostic software, repair manuals, and top-tier hand and power tools to get to the root of mechanical issues.
• Keep Things Scheduled: Plan and schedule repairs in the M5 planner, procure necessary parts, and assist with mechanical write-ups and work orders.
• Work Safe, Work Smart: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly adhere to federal, state/provincial, and company safety regulations.
• Support the Team: Collaborate with team members, assist in training new mechanics, and participate in technical seminars to stay ahead of industry tech.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or trade certification strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computer diagnostic software, maintaining digital work orders, and learning new systems.
• Tools of the Trade: Must possess, provide, and maintain your own personal tool set necessary to perform heavy/hydraulic equipment maintenance.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs, work in dynamic shop environments, and perform safety-sensitive duties.
