Mechanic, Fleet Maintenance
Key Accountabilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic work on a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
- Complete repairs on all mechanical systems as required. Including, but not limited to, engines, transmissions, driveline, brake systems, hydraulic systems, etc.
- Participate in the GFL safety program and ensure compliance with all GFL and Fleet Maintenance safety standards, policies and procedures
- Ensure repaired equipment is properly tested for correct performance and operation
- Utilize excellent organizational skills in order to complete accurate, legible and descriptive documentation for all completed repairs
- Install or fabricate aftermarket equipment and components as assigned
- Communicate effectively with Shop Foreman, Lead Hand and Parts Coordinator
Requirements
- Apprentice Certificate or willing to become an Apprentice
- Experience with the SGI Motor Vehicle Inspection Program an asset
- Class 5 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract required, 1A or 3A Driver’s License preferred
- Strong Mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment
