Major Account Manager

You will be responsible for cultivating executive-level relationships, developing strategic account plans, and delivering integrated service solutions that meet complex client needs across multiple sectors. 
This position offers flexibility to be based out of Saskatoon or Regina and surrounding areas. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth within an assigned portfolio of Major Accounts through strategic planning and execution.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to secure new business, expand service lines, and grow GFL’s footprint across customer locations.

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned Major Accounts, with deep knowledge of:

Customer industry and market landscape

Financial performance and strategic business drivers

Organizational structure and key decision-makers

Competitive service providers

GFL’s current engagement and future growth potential

  • Lead the development and negotiation of multi-year service agreements and enterprise-level contracts, positioning GFL as the preferred provider.

  • Identify new business opportunities within Major Accounts and collaborate with operations, account managers, and service lines to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Maintain and grow executive-level relationships within client organizations to ensure alignment and long-term partnership.

  • Foster strong internal collaboration across sales, operations, customer service, accounting, and other key departments to deliver seamless service.

  • Provide mentorship and strategic guidance to account managers supporting Major Accounts, helping to maximize performance and capitalize on growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in business development or strategic account management within a competitive and fast-paced industry.

  • Experience working with or selling into large, complex organizations; multi-site account experience is a strong asset.

  • Industry knowledge in waste management, environmental services, or related sectors is preferred.

  • Demonstrated passion for business excellence, with exceptional execution, follow-through, and client relationship skills.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to understand client drivers and align value-based solutions accordingly.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across assigned regions.
