GFL Environmental is looking for a Major Account Manager to join our team based out of Winnipeg, MB!

Major Account Managers are responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing sales strategies for the Commercial and Industrial lines of business. Responsible for managing and retaining a portfolio of accounts and establish long lasting business relationships with customers to grow a revenue base of business.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends in a designated market to anticipate changing customer needs. 
•    Maintain thorough knowledge of company’s available services per lines of business, pricing structures, and offer additional services specified by customer.
•    Establish long term business relationships with existing clients to grow revenue and meet pricing objectives.
•    Execute service agreements with customers.
•    Negotiate with customers to retain the relationship and associated revenue during pricing initiatives. 
•    Builds relationships and increase company visibility through participation in company sponsored activities, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce events, and similar activities.
•    Partner with Operations Team and Customer Service department to address customer needs.
•    Perform site visits as required.
•    Responsible for achieving and/or exceeding monthly retention and growth quota.
•    Responsible for creating and managing an account penetration plan that is in line with the company’s growth objectives. 
•    Responsible for proactive customer visits, contract renewals and negotiations, as well as customer defection.
•    Utilize Salesforce on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting all activities, effective management of a sales pipeline.
•    Assist accounts receivable with collection efforts and activities.
•    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Requirements:
•    3+ years of sales experience with knowledge of large accounts, tenders and proforma work.
•    3+ years of solid waste industry experience.
•    Bachelor's degree in business administration, advertising, marketing or related field (preferred).

Working Conditions:
•    This position operates in several different environments which includes both in a professional office and outside in the field. 
•    Noise level is usually moderate.
•    Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machine.

Physical/Mental Demands:
•    Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, talk and hear.
•    Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
