Maintenance Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

🔧 Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

  • Lead and manage all preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

  • Ensure conveyors, balers, screens, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mobile equipment operate safely and efficiently.

  • Monitor downtime trends and perform root cause analysis.

  • Ensure all maintenance work is properly documented.
     

 Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety programs including LOTO, guarding, PHSR, and contractor compliance.

  • Promote a strong safety culture within the maintenance team.

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and provincial/federal regulations.

  • Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas.
     

 Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians.

  • Performance evaluations, training, and scheduling.

  • Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
     

 Planning & Budget Management

  • Manage maintenance budgets and control repair costs.

  • Oversee parts inventory and critical spare components.

  • Coordinate contractors and major repair projects.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
     

 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations to prioritize maintenance activities.

  • Provide timely updates on equipment status and repair timelines.

  • Participate in production and planning meetings.


Qualifications

  • Certified Industrial Millwright or Industrial Electrician (preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience (MRF or heavy industrial environment preferred).

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience leading maintenance teams.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

  • Experience with Maintenance Management systems and downtime tracking.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Working Environment

  • Industrial recycling facility environment (dust, noise, temperature variations).

  • Frequent plant floor presence required.

  • Must be available to work Weekdays, Nights & Weekend shifts.
    Must be available for on-call support.
