Maintenance Apprentice

Job Summary:

Requirements:

  • Licensing/Education: Registered 310T Apprentice (or working towards trade certification).
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated interest in mechanics, basic mechanical knowledge, and a willingness to learn diagnostic and repair processes.
  • Work Ethic: Strong commitment to reliability, punctuality, and learning new skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive positions.
  • Tools & Safety: Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools; willingness to adhere to all shop safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Supportive Maintenance: Assist licensed mechanics with the inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment.
  • Skill Development: Actively participate in training and mentorship opportunities to advance your knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Shop Operations: Assist in keeping the shop area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Administrative Tasks: Learn to complete work orders, parts requests, and maintenance logs accurately using fleet maintenance software.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines in the shop.
  • Tool & Equipment Care: Maintain and safely utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Operational Support: Follow instructions from lead mechanics and management to ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other shop or operational duties as assigned by leadership.
