Landfill Supervisor

GFL Environmental is looking for a Landfill Supervisor to join our team in Swift Current, SK!

The Landfill Supervisor will assist and coordinate the day-to-day field operations to ensure quality service and product line efficiency. Provide leadership to site staff and promote a positive employee/employer relationship.

They will review and process day to day operations, provide guidance, and plan and delegate job duties as required.

Requirements

• Experience operating heavy equipment.

• Willing to work flexible hours.

• 2-3 years supervisory experience along with experience working with Front End Loaders and Dozers.

• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

• Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of all site staff, ensuring ongoing training Requirements:, discipline and procedural implementation.

• Assist with sustaining a productive and motivated workforce by screening, selecting, training, developing and evaluating personnel required to meet service commitments.

• Ensure operators are performing task knowledgeably, productively and safely.

• Ensure that all operators complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports, daily equipment report, operational forms and other documentation daily

• Ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all.

• Ensure company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all staff.

• Working knowledge of equipment to manage solid waste and/or cover materials.

• Operate equipment as necessary.

• Other duties as assigned.
