Key Responsibilities:
• Perform duties defined by provided daily checklist and document.
• Process special waste profiles and renewals.
• Issue waste approvals and manifests.
• Answer telephone and email inquiries.
• Produce reports and spreadsheets.
• Operate truck scales using scale software.
• Maintain operational quality standards as predetermined by management.
• Follow all safety and equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties.
• Operational Support: Issuing truck permits, setting up new accounts, and ensuring all billing data is accurate and efficient.
• Conform in all respects with applicable laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
• Coordination: Acting as a communication hub - dispatching instructions for special waste disposal to our operators and managers to keep the site running safely.
• Provide excellent customer service and professionalism to all customers via in person, telephone, email, or via the web.
- Maintain compliance logs
• Communicate clearly and concisely with on-the-road employees to give instructions and assistance.
• Answer incoming and make outgoing customer telephone calls.
• Receive and resolve, within established guidelines, customer questions and concerns.
• Research and complete customer refunds and submit for approval before being submitted to Accounts Receivable for payment.
• Maintain new account files..
• Download, distribute and answer all customer inquiries received via email.
• Take web request and process payments by phone.
• Process customer payments via internet and take cash payment’s as needed.
• Run credit checks on new customers. - • Complete verification form, service agreement and pricing matrix on all commercial accounts for changes, new and cancelled.
• Scan all contracts into system and maintain records of them.
• Maintain a positive attitude, and promote the GFL Environmental image by focusing on cooperation, employee partnership and positive telephone and email manners.
• Ensure the customer service area is neat and orderly and ensure proper greeting of all visitors.
• Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
• May provide back up assistance for Office Coordinator.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Two-year Associates Degree highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent Word/Excel skills
• Ability to write and effectively communicate responses to compliance inquiries
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations that apply to the job
• Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision
• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds
Physical/Mental Demands:
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.
• Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus due to the constant maneuvering of vehicle in tight and high traffic areas.
Working Conditions:
• Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rainy/stormy, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles
• Occasionally work in high precarious places
• Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions constantly
