Summary

To work in cooperation with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Operations Manageraiding in the repairs/maintenance of all aspects of the operating system at the Moose Creek compost facilty to ensure optimal Plant performance.

Job Duties

  • In cooperation with Maintenance Supervisor and/or Operations Manager, you are to ensure the assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of turners, screens and conveying equipment.

  • Daily cleaning of accumulation around all screens.

  • Ensure that the facility and work areas are kept clean and organized.

  • Clean up outside around bins and screen while system is running.

  • Greasing and maintaning compost equipment.

  • Prepping equipment on a daily basis for workload.

  • Preventative Maintenance and Inspections.

  • System Mechanical and Electronics (PLC’s) repairs.

  • Inventory and tracking of critical spare parts.

  • Must be ready to prioritize and adjust assignments accordingly to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and minimize potential downtime.

  • Perform system maintenance as per priority sequence and conduct emergency repairs when required. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair or completion of accredited vocational technical school program.

  • Works under minimal supervision. May periodically assist in orienting and training lower apprentices.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

  • Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment as assigned.

  • Follow all safety procedures as outlined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Applicable Industrial Regulations, Federal, Provincial, Municipal regulations Health and Safety policies and procedures.

  • Report all accident, incidents, near misses and hazards to supervision immediately.
