GFL Environmental is looking for a General Laborer to join our team in Maple Ridge, BC!

The Job:

The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily operations at a hauling company, transfer station, materials recycling facility (MRF), or landfill. This position performs a variety of physical and operational tasks to maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and safety of the worksite. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general site maintenance, including yard clean-up and debris removal
  • Fuel vehicles and heavy equipment as required
  • Operate basic site vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Assist with traffic control and direct vehicles within the facility
  • Support loading, unloading, and sorting of recyclable or waste materials
  • Conduct general maintenance tasks in office or facility buildings
  • Monitor site for safety or environmental concerns and report any issues
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in general labor, construction, or waste management an asset
  • Ability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Basic understanding of safety practices and equipment operation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location
