Field Supervisor, Industrial Services

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise receiving, personnel, and quality control teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. 

  • Manage the processing of recyclable materials, fuel blends, hazardous waste, and solids. 

  • Perform and oversee quality control testing (PCBs, metals, pH) and analyze data to ensure product compliance. 

  • Ensure adherence to labor, safety, and environmental regulations (local, state/Provincial, and federal). 

  • Train and mentor staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs), equipment operation (forklifts, LOTO, confined space entry), and safety protocols. 

  • Schedule work assignments, monitor inventory levels, and verify accuracy of inbound/outbound materials. 

  • Complete and review critical documentation, including manifests, batch tickets, and safety reports. 

  • Investigate incidents, enforce company policies, and maintain a clean, organized work environment. 

  • Assist in hiring, performance evaluations, and emergency response coordination (e.g., spill containment and cleanup). 

  • Operate and maintain tank farm equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, vacuum trucks). 

  • Ensure completion of monthly Job Task Observations (JTOs) for Receiving and aid Assistant Supervisors' JTO progress. 

  • Identify and report Hazards (Haz IDs) in SEMS; encourage team members to report safety concerns. 

  • Conduct Daily "Toolbox Talks" to reinforce safety awareness and best practices. 

  • Ensure timely completion of new policy updates and online training via Workhub. 

  • Maintain and update operational and management reporting. 

  • Schedule and dispatch work and Generate manifests in RPRA 

  • Investigate, document, and submit incident and non-conformance reports promptly. 

  • Consistently enforce company policies and procedures in a fair and impartial manner. 

  • Respond to emergencies, including spills, and assist in containment and cleanup efforts. 

  • Foster positive working relationships with team members and customers. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Education:Diploma or degree in Chemical/Environmental Technology or a related field. 

  • Driver training minimum DZ license 

  • Experience: 

  • 5+ years in hazardous waste management or plant operations. 

  • 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role. 

  • Strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities. 

  • In-depth knowledge of safety compliance and inventory/logistics management. 

  • Ability to interpret lab analysis data and direct materials to appropriate recycling streams. 

  • Capable of working outdoors and performing hands-on tasks in an industrial environment. 

 

 Certifications(Preferred)

  • Forklift operation. 

  • Safety training (LOTO, confined space entry, hazardous materials handling). 

  • Working at Heights training (WAH) 

  • Confined Space entry and/or Rescue 

Work Environment: 

  • Fast-paced industrial setting with exposure to outdoor conditions. 

  • Occasional overtime and emergency response may be required. 

  • Strict adherence to safety and environmental policies is mandatory.
