Field Supervisor, Emergency Response

Job Duties  

  • Provide assistance to customers/outside haulers while on site.  

  • Operation of all vehicles and equipment in a safe and proper manner.  

  • Conduct daily Field Level Risk Assessments & Tailboards.  

  • Abide by rules and requirements while on customers or GFL property.  

  • Complete all necessary paperwork, for example: FLRA, Manifest, BOL’s, ER Reports.  

  • Manage and maintain various data management systems.  

  • Equipment checks daily/weekly/monthly.  

  • Maintain P.P.E inventory on ER trailers  

  • Minor maintenance of equipment as required 

  • Help provide coaching and training to others.  

  • Ensure coordination with other departments and other shifts to clarify roles and   responsibilities.  

  • Manage employee complaints and concerns.  

  • Attend meetings and training as required 

  • Oversee employees to always ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and work in a safe environment.  

  • Participate in the development of SOP's, job procedures and investigations.  

  • Ensure that all sign-off sheets and memos are completed.  

  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements.  

  • Weekend work as scheduled or required 

  • All other duties as directed or required 

 

Requirements  

  • Valid AZ or ARZ (MT) License.  

  • Confine Space Entry and Rescue Certificate.  

  • HazMat Technician Level Training  

  • WHIMIS/TDGA/ REG 347.  

  • First Aid/CPR TRAINING.  

  • SVOP Certificate  

  • MEDA3 Certificate  

  • Supervisor training  

  • Strong knowledge of Highway traffic act and OH & S Act  

  • Experience using MS Word, Excel & Power point 

  • Experience and strong knowledge of tractor trailers, vacuum trucks, tankers, and roll off trucks.  

  • Experience and strong knowledge of equipment such as loaders, backhoes, skid steer, and forklifts.  

  • Demonstrates a safe operating record.  

  • No attendance or progressive discipline issues.  

  • Demonstrates competence handling all aspects of day-to-day operations.  

  • Shows effective communication skills to lead, manage and mentor crews.  

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills to delegate daily assigned duties.  

  • 2 years minimum in the waste industry with progressive responsibilities recommended.
