Field Labourer

Position Summary

Our GFL Industrial Services team is seeking energetic and dependable Field Labourers to join our team in Sparwood, BC. In this role, you will work alongside a crew of experienced professionals providing key operational and field support across various industrial projects.

We are looking for versatile, safety-oriented team players who embrace physical challenges, take pride in their work, and bring a positive attitude to the job site every day.

Schedule: Rotation options available for out-of-town candidates (21-on/7-off or 14-on/7-off; day and night shifts).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Operators with the safe set-up, operation, and control of specialized industrial units, pumps, and hoses.
• Rig equipment in and out, spot equipment for safe positioning, and assist with job-site setups and demobilization.
• Perform hands-on field labor, including truck cleaning, equipment packing, debris removal, and confined space cleaning operations.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and safely stowed away after use.
• Adhere strictly to GFL safety protocols, procedures, and site guidelines at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operations.

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean/acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Reliable personal vehicle to travel to job sites.
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts (day/night) and respond to after-hours call-outs as required.
• Experience in mining, oil and gas, or industrial services.
• Previous swamping experience (e.g., Combo Vac or Hydrovac operations).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy physical labor, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, and in noisy or confined spaces.
