Are you a skilled driver with a passion for safety and community service? GFL Environmental is looking for a Class 3 Driver (Residential Side Load) to join our team in Nanaimo!

As the face of "Team Green," you’ll play a vital role in keeping our communities clean. You’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous collection of waste and recyclables, ensuring materials are transported to post-collection facilities with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Expert Operation: Safely operate commercial vehicles and on-board hydraulic systems across assigned residential routes.

• Precision Driving: Maneuver trucks in tight spaces and execute backing maneuvers of 120 feet or more using mirrors.

• Professionalism: Maintain a positive, professional demeanor while interacting with customers and the public.

• Safety First: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; adhere to all provincial, federal, and company safety regulations.

• Documentation: Accurately complete daily truck reports, route sheets, and safety logs.

• Communication: Maintain clear, effective contact with dispatchers and supervisors to ensure route efficiency.

Requirements

• Licensing: Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.

• Physical Fitness: Ability to manually lift or move up to 65 lbs regularly throughout the day.

• Experience: Previous industry experience is considered a strong asset.

• Reliability: A self-starter who can work effectively with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
