Key Responsibilities
Strategic Dispatching: Schedule and dispatch calls based on designated routes and real-time driver locations to maximize efficiency.
Customer Excellence: Field incoming calls and emails, addressing service changes and resolving inquiries with a professional, solution-oriented mindset.
Route Optimization: Partner with routing specialists to refine routes and troubleshoot potential delivery or pickup hurdles before they impact the customer.
Operational Support: Perform daily driver check-ins to ensure paperwork accuracy and manage the distribution/collection of route sheets for data entry.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Sales, Maintenance, and Operations to clarify roles and resolve complex service issues.
Staffing & Logistics: Assist the Operations Manager in determining daily staffing levels to balance responsiveness with productivity.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Experience: 1–2 years in transportation, dispatch, or a high-volume customer service role.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly and professionally via email, telephone, and two-way radio.
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Multitasking Pro: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a "live" environment.
Industry Insight: Knowledge of waste management or logistics is considered a strong asset.
Education: Specialized training in logistics or experience in a call center environment is preferred.
