About the Role
As a Customer Service Representative, you are the voice of GFL. You’ll be the primary point of contact for our customers, driving satisfaction by resolving inquiries, supporting route logistics, and ensuring seamless service delivery. Key Responsibilities
Customer First: Deliver exceptional customer service via phone, email, and web requests with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Problem Solver: Receive, research, and resolve customer questions, account updates, and service inquiries within established guidelines.
Team Communicator: Coordinate directly with drivers, route supervisors, and sales teams to resolve missed stops, schedule special pick-ups, and keep daily operations running smoothly.
Account & Data Management: Set up new residential and commercial accounts, process customer payments, run credit checks, and update account details accurately in our billing system (Tower).
Work Order Processing: Generate call-in work orders for drivers, manage daily call-in logs, and ensure timely documentation of all customer interactions.
Quality Assurance: Assist with contract management, scanning agreement files, and ensuring full compliance with local, federal, and internal company policies.
Office Support: Keep the customer service area welcoming and orderly, greeting visitors and occasionally backing up office administrative tasks.
What You Bring to the Team
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: 1–2 years of customer service or call center experience.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a knack for positive, clear interaction over the phone and via email.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfortable learning specialized database software (Tower).
Adaptability: Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve in a fast-paced setting.
Attention to Detail: Solid organizational, data entry, and record-keeping skills.
Work Environment & Demands
Setting: Indoor office environment (~95% of time) with a moderate noise level.
Physical Requirements: Standard office environment tasks, including sitting, standing, using standard computer software, and communicating over telephone headsets.
