Class 1 Driver/Recovery Technician

Job Description Summary
The Recovery Technician will be responsible for operating our hybrid units, straight truck & bulk tanker, while collecting used oil, filters and plastics along with part washer services throughout the designated province. The Recovery Technician will require a high level of professionalism and customer service, which will be used to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote GFL’s wide range of service offerings.
Key Accountabilities
Follows schedules and service orders as required
Provides exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promotes GFL’s service offerings
Completes service paperwork in accordance with GFL and TDG regulations
Operates all required transport equipment safely & ensures regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components and other assigned equipment
Participates in GFL’s safety programs
Requirements
Class 1 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) with a clean driver abstract
Ability to work independently
Physically able to perform heavy manual labor, including moving and handling heavy drums
Customer oriented
TDG knowledge and experience
Self-motivated and positive attitude
Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
Ability to work out of town and overnight trips up to three days at a time
