AZ Operator, Organics

 GFL Environmental is looking for a full-time Field Operator/AZ Driver to support the biosolids operations in Durham Region. As a field operator, you will be responsible for unloading tankers at the field as well as operating the pump that supplies the tractor during land application season (Apr-Nov). As an AZ Driver (Dec-Apr), you will be responsible for transporting heavy loads from wastewater treatment plants to various locations, including client facilities, exclusively serving municipal clients.
 

Candidate must be willing to work in the elements during land application season.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate motorized vehicles to move material between client sites
• Operate pumping equipment required for land application of biosolids
• Accurately complete numerous and various documents
• Delivering biosolid products to rural areas
• Loading and unloading biosolids at field locations.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while ensuring secure and proper loading and unloading of heavy loads
• Comply with all municipal rules and regulations governing the transportation and processing of waste materials
• Transport loads to the designated processing facilities in Durham Region
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Requires a valid AZ License with clean abstract
• 3 years of driving experience is an asset
• Tanker experience is an asset
• Farming background is an asset
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission is an asset
• Must have ability to perform labour intensive duties including heavy lifting
• Doesn’t mind working in the elements (weather dependent)
• Proven impeccable attendance record
• Must have solid written and verbal communication skills in order to complete required paperwork and maintain contact with other personnel.
