Job Duties

  • Technician supports those controls and mechanisms necessary to support processing and treatment operations as well as ensures a safe working environment

  • Responsible for the control of biocell/biopile operations including microbe preparations and application

  • Technician is responsible for monitoring students and contractors on the site

  • Requires disciplined communication and organizational skills in conjunction with solid leadership ability

  • Experience in operating heavy equipment and general maintenance is beneficial

  • Responsible for compliance and enforcement of all Company policies and procedures with regards to all employees and contractors working within the entire plant and its operations

  • Responsible for ensuring Company compliance with all Environmental Compliance Approvals

  • Assisting the Site Manager in ensuring compliance with all Environmental Compliance Approvals

  • All sampling and analytical requirements required for compliance and production

  • Participating in the Emergency Response and Remedial Action Plan (ERRAP)

  • Assisting the Site Manager in the investigation of any incidents or complaints and preparation of reports

  • Assisting in the coordination and implementation of special projects and programs

  • Coordinating transportation and site work when necessary with the Site Manager

  • Assist Site Manager in supervising sub-contractors for soil movement and screening

  • Operating loaders and screeners if appropriately trained to do so

  • Preparing microbe solutions as per suppliers instructions

  • Construction and tear down of biopiles

  • Operating all aeration, process sampling and analysis of biopiles

  • Documenting all process activities as per Conditions of the Environmental Compliance Approvals

  • Assist Site Manager in supervising sampling of monitoring wells on a quarterly basis

  • Responsible for all Emergency Response Equipment and Kits


  • College or University Degree in related studies

  • Completion of high school. Post-secondary courses or diploma would be considered an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong customer focus

  • Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks

  • Knowledge of industry
