Summary

The Transfer Station Supervisor will oversee all daily operations of commercial routes. To ensure all employees are performing to the company policies and procedures and the appropriate laws that govern them. Oversee and provide leadership to all employees with the ability to communicate to them on a daily basis. Develop and review routes to company standards. Direct all supervisors and employees as needed.

Job Description

  • Interviewing and testing abilities of new drivers with Supervision of Site Manager

  • Coaching drivers on proper procedures and best practices

  • Disciplining drivers (with Supervision of Site Manager) and maintaining accountability in a judicious and consistent manner

  • Performing site inspections and observational assessments

  • Acting as a liaison with key contacts at landfill and processing destinations

  • Completing company required inspections and Incident Investigation Reports as required

  • Creating a team atmosphere with emphasis on results and comradery

  • Dispatching and re-assigning units as required to ensure proper preventative maintenance and repair is always performed

  • Inspecting equipment to ensure operators are performing Daily tasks appropriately

  • Developing and adhering to preventative maintenance, washing, and daily inspection schedules by drivers

  • Reliable position with full benefits

  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements

  • Other duties as directed or required

Requirements

  • Mechanical experience a strong asset

  • Daily requirement to start at 4:00am

  • Must have hauling (Class 1) experience

  • Experience, strong knowledge and commitment to safety

  • Excellent knowledge of operations

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills between staff members, managers, and customers

  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently

  • Confidence in ability to manage office responsibilities on a daily basis

  • Experience and strong knowledge of operating all company machines

  • Strong knowledge of Highway traffic act and OH & S Act

  • WHIMIS training
